TRIPLE SHELTER MILEAGES

The A.T. Guide provides distances from each shelter to the next three shelters to the north and to the south. This information is useful in planning your days. Not all hikers stay in shelters, but shelter locations often have tentsites and water nearby, and so are the most commonly used overnight locations. The sample below shows the usefulness of this feature, where the distances to the first two shelters might be shorter than you'd like for your day.
