Download The A.T. Guide from the App Store

  1. Download App from App Store
  2. Open the App and tap either "I have already purchased a PDF" or "I need to purchase PDF"
  3. Create an account or log into your existing A.T. Guide account
  4. If you have already purchased a PDF your PDF will load into your app and you are ready to go. If you need to purchase a PDF you will be directed through the checkout process. Once checkout is complete your PDF will be loaded into your app.

Here is our video series for how to use our A.T. Guide PDF Reader for iPhone. There are 12 very short videos. Tap the menu in the top right corner of the playlist to view the entire playlist and select the topic you would like to see.

Android Instructions

Manual Download Instructions

Your PDF may be manually downloaded to your computer or mobile device in 2 easy steps:

  1. Access your order confirmation email or login to your account downloads, click the download link.
  2. Go to your downloads on your computer to access, and move your download to where you would like to store it and open it with the PDF reader of choice. We recommend Adobe Acrobat Reader for desktop.

*If downloading to your mobile device, you may use the PDF reader of your choosing. There are many options and not all PDF readers are created equal. We only offer technical support for The A.T. Guide PDF Reader.

Troubleshoot A.T. Guide App

A.T. GUIDE READER TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

When I tap The A.T. Guide cover I get a white screen and a spinner and the pdf never opens.

(While not wildly common, this happens from time to time. The tips to the right are in order from easiest fix to most involved fix. All of these methods have worked for one user or another.)

You are an Android user and your permissions were not successfully set:

  • Close The A.T. Guide App
  • Press firmly on the A.T. Guide app tile
  • Choose the i with a circle around it from the top right corner of the drop down menu
  • Set permissions for storage
  • Restart app
  • The above instructions are for Samsung phones. If you have another brand, please google how to adjust app permissions for your model. You only need to give your device permissions for storage.

(or) You are an Android or and iPhone user and your initial guide download did not fully complete. 

  • Make sure you have good service or have a good WiFi signal.
  • From the "Hello" screen in The A.T. Guide App, tap the "..." in the upper right corner of the book cover.
  • Select, "Re-download PDF"
  • Wait a few minutes and try to reopen the PDF by tapping on the book cover.

(or) You are an Android or iPhone user and your phone has system updates to run:

  • Run all available updates for your phone
  • Restart your device
  • Open The A.T. Guide App, make sure you are logged in, and tap the cover of the book.

(or) You are an Android or and iPhone user and you need to reinstall the app.

  • Make sure you have access to reliable service or strong WiFi
  • Delete the app from your device.
  • Restart your device.
  • Re-download the app.
  • Sign in to your account.
  • Open guidebook once the cover appears on your screen.

(or) You ordered during pre-order (back in November - January).

  • If you tried all of the above and still have not had success, we may need to recreate your user account or order to fix the problem. Please contact us so that we may assist you with this process.
I'm having trouble logging into my account on TheATGuide.com
  • Most likely your username is your email address. If your full email address is not working try the part of your email address that comes before the @ symbol.
  • Go to https://www.theatguide.com/my-account/, enter your username, and click the "Lost your password?" link.
  • Check your email for the link to reset your password.
My username is not working so I am not able request a new password.
  • Email or call us and we will be happy to send you your correct username and send you a link to reset your password.
I'm having trouble highlighting text In both the iPhone and Android versions of The A.T. Guide PDF Reader App, the highlighter can have trouble highlighting several lines of text. This is a limitation we have to live with to be able to offer annotations, a mileage log, and a highlighter. We prioritized the functionality of the other higher value features while still being able to offer all three functions. The work around is to keep your highlights simple. If you can not highlight as much as you want in one highlight, use a few smaller highlights.
The Guidebook will not open up to the page where I stopped. It skips to the end of the book.

This is a known Android issue. It will be fixed in our next update. It is the result of exiting the book via the exit icon in the top left corner while viewing your PDF in landscape mode. If you rotate back to portrait mode before exiting the PDF your position will be preserved.

The app crashes when I scroll down in my mileage log or annotations list. This was an early bug which we have fixed. Please update your app to the latest version.

 

Troubleshoot Manual Download

A.T. GUIDE MANUAL DOWNLOAD TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

I can not find or never received my order confirmation with download link. If you know you received the confirmation email and can not find it:

  • Search your email for "Your A.T. Guide order has been processed"
  • Login to your download management console: https://www.theatguide.com/my-account/downloads/. (Your username is most likely your email address.)

If you never received your confirmation email most likely there is a typo in the email address submitted with your order.

  • Email or call us with your correct email address and we will be happy to correct your account username and resend your download link.

When I click the download link It seems like nothing happens and I never see the file open. Your download is not completing. A successful download will result in seeing the file on screen.

  • The download is approximately 22.7MB. Make sure you have enough room on your mobile device.
  • If your first attempt was not successful, restart your mobile device and make sure you have a strong wifi signal before reattempting the download process.
  • Download the file to a computer and then send the file to your mobile device. You may do so by emailing utilizing a cloud file sharing app such as Dropbox, or utilizing a utility such as iPhone's Airdrop to send the file to yourself.
I have run out of download attempts but I still do not have access to my file. You have 5 attempts to manually download the file to your computer or mobile device (A.T. Guide app logins do not count towards your download count).

  • If you have had trouble and have depleted your downloads without success, email or call us for assistance and we will be happy to reset your downloads.
